Technische Universität Berlin (Berlin Technical University) is a public research university located in Berlin.
Founded in 1770 as the Berlin Technical High School. The university went through a number of reorganizations and mergers in order to open after the Second World War in 1946 under the name “Technical University of Berlin”. It was the first university in the country to receive the status of a “technical university”.
Today Technische Universität Berlin is one of the largest German technical universities. The university has over 34,500 students. At the same time, TU Berlin is the leader in the number of foreign students: their share is 26% of the total. The teaching staff consists of about 2,500 professors, teachers and researchers. Training is provided in more than 100 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs.
Particular attention is paid to ecology and the environment: the study of these subjects is included in the curriculum for any of the specialties. The university is confident that they have managed to create a unique connection between the natural and technical sciences on the one hand, and planning, economics, social and human sciences on the other.
