Logistics

In 2023, the institute launched two educational programs: “Energy and Environmental Engineering” and “Logistics”. The programs are aimed at training specialists for the production of green hydrogen in Mangystau and supporting the development of logistics for the middle transport corridor from China to Europe across the Caspian Sea.

In the next five years, it is planned to expand the list of educational programs: up to 8 bachelor's programs and up to 6 master's programs.

Goal

The main goal is to train qualified specialists capable of organizing the work of the transport complex in a modern logistics system of goods distribution and its interaction with the logistics infrastructure of the commodity market and the transport services market.

Study outcomes

Graduates of this educational program can:

  • organize the work of the transportation process, taking into account the capacity of transport facilities and nodes and calculating the main indicators of transport performance
  • analyze information using statistical and economic methods of knowledge to create and present a report on the results of transportation
  • carry out document flow of commercial, financial, transport, forwarding, customs, insurance and claim documents, including using knowledge of foreign languages
  • calculate the cost of transportation and delivery times of goods
  • determine parameters for optimizing logistics transport chains and links
  • organize a supply chain management system at the enterprise
  • develop effective technological schemes for cargo delivery, taking into account the choice of distribution channels, suppliers and intermediaries
  • manage warehouse management at the enterprise
  • carry out and describe technical drawings for the preparation of technical and design documentation
  • offer options for optimizing the operation of the enterprise using methods and means of automated control systems of the enterprise, its resources (SAP) and technological processes
  • use the following programs in practice: “Rail-tariff”, “D-sector”, “Customs broker/declarant”, “ExtendSim”, “VisSim”, “1C: Warehouse”, “AutoCAD”/
